Rolex at the 89th Academy Awards

This year Rolex will be sponsoring the Academy Awards for the very first time. The Oscars are one of the more prestigious awards ceremonies since 1929 and feature the best of the best in film.

Take a sneak peek inside the Rolex Greenroom at the 89th Academy Awards. The Greenroom is a place for the presenters and Academy Award-winners of the night to relax either before going on stage or after their victory.  It was designed by Rolex’s Geneva-based interior design team and the project took six months to conceptualize and four days to build. Exclusive presentation of Rolex and Tudor novelties

On Thursday, June 16th, we gathered our dear clients, who have also become our friends, in order to exclusively present them the Rolex and Tudor novelties.

In Emerald ballroom in hotel Esplanade Zagreb they had a special privilege of seeing in person and trying on the newest models presented this spring at the world watch and jewellery show in Basel, Switzerland.

This gathering lasted all night as our guests enjoyed on terrace eating delicious food, drinking top quality wine Meneghetti and refreshing Gin Mare tonic cocktails, while enjoying the fun soul and funk sound of Soul Shadows band. By organizing this exclusive event we also wanted to thank our clients for being loyal and supportive for all these years as we celebrate 38 years of work with Rolex.

New Rolex Deepsea with D-Blue Dial

On the occasion of the release of National Geographic’s DEEPSEA CHALLENGE 3D film about the expedition to the deepest reaches of the ocean by explorer and film-maker James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar), Rolex has introduced a new version of its Rolex Deepsea. This ultimate divers’ watch, resistant to extreme pressure, is equipped with a “D-blue” dial representing the colours of the deep.

The deep blue to pitch-black gradient dial is reminiscent of the ocean’s twilight zone where the last trickle of light from the surface disappears into the abyss, echoing James Cameron’s DEEPSEA CHALLENGE expedition. As a tribute to the partnership between Rolex and Cameron, the “DEEPSEA” marking on the new dial adopts the colour of the explorer’s green submersible as it is perceived underwater.

The new Rolex Deepsea was introduced on Monday 4 August in New York, during the US premiere of the documentary film in the splendid Hall of Ocean Life at the American Museum of Natural History.

The new Rolex Deepsea with D-Blue dial will be available in our store from September.
