On 4 June we visited the opening of exceptional exhibition “Croatia From Above”. This is one of the greatest and most original photography projects ever in Croatia and is of a great value for Croatian promotion.
Over the course of seven years, the photographer and the founder of this project, Davor Rostuhar, created a collection of 200 unique photographs of Croatia from above, showing various natural and cultural attractions. Moreover, he discovered new values of natural and cultural heritage of Croatia.
As the result, National Geographic’s editors in the United States have recognized Rostuhar’s approach in photography by awarding him the magazine’s prestigious editor’s award. That being said, we are proud sponsor of this event and would like to encourage everyone to visit exhibition, either in Zagreb or during it’s tour throughout Croatia. If you are not able to see the exhibition live, you can purchase photo-monograph both in English or Croatian.

Some things do not exist for a very simple reason: they are considered impossible to create.
That is what was said about two-colour ceramic. No one had managed to discover a way of manufacturing a watch component in high-technology ceramic with bulk colouring in two distinct colours. No one before Rolex…
At this year’s Baselworld Rolex presented a world first with the new GMT-Master II equipped with a two-color Cerachrom bezel insert in red and blue, which was long considered impossible to create in ceramic. This new model is echoing the first GMT‑Master bezel of 1955.
The innovation consists first in creating a single-piece red ceramic and then modifying the composition of each grain, right to the core of the ceramic, to change the red into blue over half the insert with a perfectly clear demarcation between the two colours.
Like all Rolex Cerachrom bezel inserts, it offers exceptional scratch and corrosion resistance. Its colours are unaffected by ultraviolet rays. The aesthetic effect is equally spectacular. The ceramic’s sheen gives volume to the insert and enhances the colours in a way that is reminiscent of the Plexiglas insert of the original GMT-Master.
At Rolex the pursuit of excellence is a passion, and movement is the heart of every Rolex.
The height of precision, the self-winding Oyster movement is entirely engineered and manufactured by Rolex’s Research and Development Teams. Robust and reliable, every movement is an officially certified Swiss chronometer and is indeed entirely Swiss made jewel.
The four simple words Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified on a Rolex watch dial mean that the very movement inside the timepiece has endured 15 days and nights of testing by COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres – Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute), an independent not-for-profit association.
To receive COSC certification as a Swiss chronometer, a watch must demonstrate extreme precision in a variety of positions and temperatures.
Rolex is unique in the industry: this is the standard level of quality required of every Rolex wristwatch movement.
Every Rolex tells a story. Of success, achievement, victory. Accomplished women reveal the story behind their watches.
